No you need the pectin as a preervative!. also it stands up to the temperature of canning while the cornstarch may separate!.

You can buy pectin in the baking aisle of your grocery store!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've never tried it!. It sounds like it might not work, I'd be sure I can affor d the wasted time and ingrediant cost before undertaking this procedure!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
