Shrimp Cleaning Practices?!

Question: Shrimp Cleaning Practices!?
Have you found that some restaurants will not clean shrimp, especially when its fried!?
i've encountered this with all Sizzler's and Denny's Restaurants!.

Why don't some restaurant chains clean the shrimp!?
Isn't that really unsanitary!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Its actually not unsanitary to eat it the way they have been serving you, just kind of gross!. Just ask the server from now on if the shrimp is "peeled and devained!." The peeled part will ensure that the shell and legs are gone!. Devained means that the black "vein," which is actually the intestines, is removed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Are you talking about them just not taking off the tails!? That is fine, dirty food is unsanitary, but just rinsing them like vegetables or meat is fine!. It is cheaper to get unpeeled shrimp, also some people think it looks nicer that way!. I hate it when I go to a nice restaurant and get something like a seafood linguine, and I have to pick through it taking off the tails!. Stupid if you ask me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Actually it's not unsanitary or necessary!.
You can eat everything in the shrimp!.
So, some do and some don't clean them!.

Think about a clam or tomally in a lobster( the green goo)!.
We eat that poo, no questions asked!.

No danger in eating a undeveined shrimp!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

when you cook anything under specific temperature all of the bacteria dies, so it's not unsanitary, just some people like it cleaned some not :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

i kno right!. Long john silvers shrimp has green poo still inside!. Gross!. I've worked at a few restaurants including crab house and red lobster, they alwayssssssssssss clean the shrimp thoroughly!. That stuff is nasty and not normalWww@FoodAQ@Com
