Can chocolate be a drug?!


Question: Can chocolate be a drug!?
One of my friends is hardcore straight edge and that includes not eating chocolate because he says its addicting and has something in it that makes it a drug!.
I must admit chocolate is definitely addicting I'm a chocoholic but is he being too dramatic!.

It has caffein in it which is a drug!. And I guess it's possible to be addicted but it's possible to become addicted to anything you do too much!. Yea he's being overdramatic!. Afterall, you never see people going off to rehab or overdosing on chocolate!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Actually, they have found that there is a chemical in chocolate that is a mood elevator!. It causes the release of certain endorphins in the brain that create a mild euphoric feeling!. Which is why some women crave choc during PMS!. It is said to duplicate the same endorphins that are released during sexual activity!.

While it is more of a craving than an actual addiction, there is a real physical relation as to why you crave itWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes you're friend is dramatic!. Chocolate is actually good for you if consumes w/ moderation and if you're not diabetic!. It's addicting because it tastes soooo good!. :- )Www@FoodAQ@Com

Apart from chocolate, some people have this habit of eating something sweet after lunch or dinner!. This also can be addicting, so why blame only chocolate! I too love chocolates, but don't eat them daily!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
