Power outage and frozen food?!

Question: Power outage and frozen food!?
The power went down for 5 hours!. I live in a hot climate so it was pretty warm in the house!. I have commercially prepared frozen packaged fish in the freezer!. I made sure I did not open the freezer door until about 24 hours after the power came back up again!. Is the fish safe to eat!? Thank youWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It should be alright - after a power outage you should open the freezer briefly and make sure there are still ice crystals in the food - if there are then it is safe to eat, if not, you should either cook it up immediately or throw it out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

in a normal freezer it would last about 14 hours without powerWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes!. It's fine!. It's going to take way more than 5 hours to thaw in a closed freezer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would say yes! As long as you kept the freezer closed, the fish most likely stayed frozen!! =)Www@FoodAQ@Com
