How do you clean burnt oil out of a popcorn maker?!

Question: How do you clean burnt oil out of a popcorn maker!?
I just bought a used popcorn maker--The kind with a kettle like at the movie theater!. There is a coating of crusted burnt oil in the kettle and around the edges that I can't seem to get out!. I tried warm water and soap and also tried Easy-Off oven cleaner!. It still works, but gets very very smokey whenever I try to use it!. Any suggestions would be great!Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are products specifically made to clean those popcorn poppers!. They are granulated and come in large jars!. I have included one link below!.

If that is out of your budget, you want something that will cut grease!. I have used several different ones on our popper, but make sure it says "cuts grease" on the label!.

And lastly, a certain amount of grease is okay, it is like seasoning a pan!. However, when you get stuck-on kernels you should start cleaning it because they will cause a burning smell that will drive people from the room!.

I speak from experience!

SOS or Brillo Pad and HOT water and lots of scrubbing!.

Warm water doesn't get any burnt grease off anything!. Scouring powder like Comet or Bar Keepers Friend will also work, but needs hot water and a steel scrubbie pad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

lots of scrubbing or use sand paper
But it sounds like the heating element is not right!?!?
Is there an automatic switch to shut the unit down when the corn is done!.!.!?!?
It should be a weight device
But we cant see it so
Good luckWww@FoodAQ@Com
