I'm of Japanese heritage!. I can tell you for a fact, that most sushi is comprised of fully cooked ingredients!. My favourite is Inari!. Which does not contain any fish at all!. also, wasabi is not eaten with all Sushi!. Again, my favourite, Inari should only be served with Gari Shoga, or Beni Shoga!. Gari Shoga is the sweet pickled ginger (pink)!. Beni Shoga is the spicy, sweet pickled ginger (red)!. Another sushi variety that does not contain raw fish, is omelette, which uses Usuyaki Tamago!. The omelette is sometimes made with Dashi, which does contain Bonito flakes!.
While sushi Can contain raw fish and seafood!. Most of it, is in fact cooked!.
Raw fish, on it's own, is called Sashimi!. Sushi-Meshi is not sushi either!. Sushi is the finished product!. Sushi-Meshi is the rice mixture of rice, vinegar, sugar and salt used to make the sushi!. It's also called Shari!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are different types of sushi some of which have cooked and uncooked fish on/in it!.
Nigiri sushi is the sushi rice with wasabi and wrapped or layered with fish!. Ebi Nigiri is an example of cooked shrimp on top of the rice!. Unagi nigiri is also cooked eel on top of rice!.
