A tomato (Solanum lycopersicum, Lycopersicon esculentum), is not really a plain old fruit!. It's a solanaceous herb!. True is it is closer "related" to what we commonly classify as a fruit but strictly speaking it is not!.It is a solanaceous herb!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When did you last pluck a rhubarb off a bush!? It's a vegetable!. Rhubarb, if left to its own devices will flower and produce seeds!. These could be called fruit, but not the stems!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
