Answers:
Melamine, simply put, is a type of plastic!. It is often used, harmlessly, as a coating for cheap fiberboard to make inexpensive but strong (and water resistant) furniture; the finished material is often called 'melamine' for short, even though it's only coated with melamine!.

Increasingly, it has been found as a contaminant in high protein food sources; unscrupulous manufacturers add it to artificially raise the apparent protein level of their product!. The problem is that it reacts with chemicals in the body, producing harmful results!. The most notable of these is the production of insoluble stones in the kidney!. This is the same chemical which caused the massive pet food recall in early 2007, and the current baby formula crisis!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

ok melamine is a chemical that is in alot and i mean of things in small dosages its fine but in big quantities its bad it is also bad if it reaches a certain tempreture !.!.!.!.!. melamine has killed or made 32000 babies seriously ill !.!.!.it can also be contaminated in milk and thats wat happend to the babies !.!.!.!.if u just keep using regular products be care with how u store ur food and wat temps certain things get to u should be fine !.!.!.!. dont over heat something thst is not ment to and dont get things too cold if there ment to be hot xx good luck hopefully that answered ur question xxWww@FoodAQ@Com

What's semi-recalled!? It should be recalled, period!.

Melamine is a poison!. It causes kidney stones, or kidney failure leading to death!. Unscrupulous processors put it in their food to make the food seem like it has more protein than it does!.

Melamine ware has been with us a long time!. It is stable and inert, and it is safe to use as long as it isn't overheated, as in a microwave or on a stove!. It should never be used in the oven!. Melamine breaks down under heating!. The resin decomposes and can (does) pose a health risk if ingested!. If it isn't "baked" into significant color change, no problemWww@FoodAQ@Com

Melamine is the poison that was most famously recalled in pet food about 2 years ago!. (It killed my poor sister-in-law's cat!. He died of kidney problems!.) They are also recalling it currently in China-- it somehow got into baby formula and has killed several small children there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
