Can coconut get ripe off the tree?!


Question: Can coconut get ripe off the tree!?
I picked up a coconut which fallen off the tree and opened it up, but it's not ripe!.!. the shell is very light colour and the flesh is soft!.!.!.
So if another one falls of the tree and I leave it to stand for a while, will it get ripe!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

This coconut would appear to be an immature one that had dropped off for whatever reason,mature coconut has a dry outer husk & when broken openwill reveal firm flesh!.

Yes put in a cardboard box, and place in a dark place!.
It may take 3 or so weeks, but, she'll ripen!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
