Improveing a mini fridge?!
how can i make my igloo mini fridge make things colder or get colder, it gets cold but not as cold as i would likeWww@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
The internal temperature of a fridge is determined by the power of the cooling mechanism, how well the cabinet is insulated and how often you let in hot air!.
You can't do much about the motor!.
You mighty be able to improve the insulation around the fridge, perhaps encase it in extra insulating materials, such as styrofoam!. However, that might look messy!.
also, the back of the fridge will generate hot air!. Make sure there is air-flow behind the fridge to allow the warm air to escape!.
Because mini fridges are so small, the moment you open the door you reduce the temperature of everything, and the cooling system won't be able to catch up!. Therefore don't open the door unless absolutely necessary!. Open and close the door quickly when you have to!.
Don't over-stock the fridge!.
You need to check that the door seals are very tight!. If not, you could trying to construct a latch system, maybe using velcro to shut the door more tightly!. That will stop air escaping!.
Never put anything warm or hot in the mini fridge, and if you do, you need to give it a couple of hours to catch up!.
If you have another fridge, try pre-chilling all items in a bigger fridge and only move them to the mini fridge when they're cold!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
