Answers:
How pickled do you want the carrots!? If you want to have them taste a little bit like the pickle brine, leave them as is!. It will take a while, as in a few days to a week!. also, the tiny baby carrots will absorb the brine through quicker - obviously!. Your carrots are like the pickles you buy as fresh pickles that require refrigeration!. If you want them to really be pickled, you need to heat the brine and then put them back in the jar!. You could also add other veggies like onions, celery!.!.!.!. you could also cook the carrots just a bit and then they will absorb the brine even better!. I like my pickles a bit crispy/crunchy, so I do not think I would go to that extreme for the pickle flavor!. Good luck and enjoy! Www@FoodAQ@Com

Normally, it would be hot pickle juice/brine that would be poured over the carrots!. It also depends upon the type of pickle juice!. Some pickling will take place within the first day, but it will be much more pickled after a week or 2!. After all, carrots are a very hard veggie rather than porous which would have the brine permeate faster!.

If you want to speed up the process, drain the brine and bring it to a boil and then recover the carrots with it and refrigerate after it cools!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i'm not positive, but I don't think that is normal pickling procedure!. I thought that you had to sterilize the jar, and pour boiling canning liquid and seal the jar!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know, but it sounds interesting!. They will probably be pickly by tomorrow!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
