Answers:
you should be fine!. I would suggest putting it on a plate before putting it in your fridge!. once it starts to thaw it can be a mess!. depending also on how big it is, you may get a better result eating it tomorrow night!. Sometimes meat can take two days to defrost completelyWww@FoodAQ@Com

So let me get this straight - you opened a package of steak, cooked half immediately and then froze the other half, uncooked - right!? In that case, yes you can thaw the steak in your fridge, assuming that you bought it fresh and it was never frozen, or you bought it frozen and it never thawed the first time!.

What you should NOT do is freeze the meat, thaw it, and then refreeze it without cooking it!.

However, if you thaw it, cook it, and then freeze it again, it's ok!.

That said, depending on the size of the steak, one day in the fridge might not be long enough to thaw it - but give it a try! You can also defrost it in the microwave, or in a plastic bag (like a Ziploc) in hot water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

But the quicker way to thaw is put it in Ziploc and then melt it in hot water !. Keep check water to make sure it aint cool or getting cold!. Some people defrost it in Microvaw but I don't because once people defrost it in microvaw , streak will turn brown and then they will think it means it is done! lol!.!.!.it is wrong!. it is at least an hour of cooking!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

well, if it was already open it is not recommended to refreeze,

step 1 : keep meat in freezer
step 2: thaw in refrigerator
step 3 : if a portion is left uncooked leave in refrigerator covered in plastic or aluminum until ready to use againWww@FoodAQ@Com

NO!!!! Meat that has been opened, frozen, and then thawed can emit chemicals that lead to serious emotional and mental instability and make you do completely irrational things, like vote democrat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

that is actually the safest place for you to thaw any meat!. left on the counter top it is exposed to all types of bacteria that are just waiting to share that steak with you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes!. As long as it looks good, no brown spots or mold, and it smells ok, then yes!. Just cook it real done!. Next time, make sure to wrap your meat really well!. Good luck with the steak tonight!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, as long as it hasn't been left out of the fridge for too long!. I always thaw my meat by putting it in the fridge for about 24 hours before I cook it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes!. and after it thaws!.!.!. you can let it rest on the counter for about 15 minutes before you cook it and it will cook more evenly!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
