Chili pot had one tiny spot of mold on the side, but not the chili- is it safe to eat? ?!

Question: Chili pot had one tiny spot of mold on the side, but not the chili- is it safe to eat!? !?
Okay, so I have a pot of chili that's been in my fridge for about a week and a half or so, way in the back, almost frozen cause my fridge is cold!. Anyways, I checkied it thoroughly and found one tiny little spot of what appeared to be mold high up on the side where the chili wasn't actually touching it!. It's not even the diameter of a pea, probably half that!.
If I heat the chili through, and keep it hot for an hour or so, would it be safe to eat, do you think!? I already removed the mold!. It's cold as heck up here today, and we're real low on food, I can't see throwing out a whole pot of chili just because the pan had some growth!.
What do you think!?

If you heat the chili until it bubbles and keep it that hot for at least 12 minutes, it will kill anything in it!. No worries!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The department of health schools (where you get your food handlers card) suggest throwing it out because mold has veins or roots and extend out farther than where the mold is!. It's a shame to throw food away I always feel guilty, but it's not worth getting some sort of weird sickness!. We hear about e-coli and other scary stuff so I wouldn't chance it!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I disagree with Craig's answer!. Anytime there is mold in food you know there is more bacteria in there that just haven't reached the mold stage yet!. I would throw it out rather than risk getting sick!. I don't like to toss food either however I don't like being sick even more!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it is to a point where you see even the tiniest bit of mold you need to throw it out!. I hate wasting food too but it's not worth getting sick over which if you do decide to eat it, will make you sick!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No Because the mold has spred all the way through the side of the chili making it bad to eat!. you can get a sever stomic ach if you do eat it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i wouldnt, but if u want to take the next day off!. my hubby ate stew that had mold not even touching the food!. And he had the runs the next day!.!.!.so take a risk, you only live once!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Boiling it will kill all other bacteriaWww@FoodAQ@Com

I think you should discard it! I mean a whole week sitting in a pot!?!? For one thing that is not properly stored(I mean being in a pot for so long) If I make chili or anything I will make sure it is all gone within two days! When you put something in the fridge it only slows down the process of bacteria getting to it!. It doesn't stop it completely!. I had a salsa jar in the fridge for over a week and it had on tiny spot of mold so I threw it out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
