This might be a dumb question, but can you freeze an apple to keep it fresh longer?!

Question: This might be a dumb question, but can you freeze an apple to keep it fresh longer!?
My husband absolutely loves these caramel apples that our local grocery store sells, but they only sell them during the fall!. And of course, they're only good for a few days after we buy them!. He'd like to "stock up" on them, but is it possible to pop them in the freezer to keep them fresh longer!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
freezing apples at home causes the cells in the apple to be damaged by the water in the cells hardening and expanding and when you defrost them these damaged cells turn the apple "squishy" apples as well as any fruit are best frosen when "blast" frosen, which is the method used in commercial freezing! it is best to take the advice of making your own fresh ones

ps if the grocer makes them himself ask him/her for the receipy (i cant spell today :) )Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can freeze whole and unpeeled apples on a tray!. Transfer to freezer bags once frozen!.
Since freezing changes the texture of apples, they are not as well suited for eating raw!.
I would recommend making your own caramel apples through-out the year as a treat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it is better to freeze them because if you don't the caramel will turn bad and kill the appleWww@FoodAQ@Com
