Fertilized Chicken Eggs Grocery Store ?!

Question: Fertilized Chicken Eggs Grocery Store !?
I was just on the phone with a friend, was about to eat some eggs, and she had told me if there is a white substance in the egg around the yolk that means it had been fertilized!. She was not talking about the clear egg whites but just a small amount of white near the yolk!.

Is this true!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
You're correct--that white bit is known as the chalaza!. It anchors the yolk in place, and *if* the egg is fertilized, it acts as an umbilical cord!. It's more visible in fresh eggs, but does not indicate whether or not the egg has been fertilized!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!. mom buys free range eggs from a farm some even have two yokes, (Double yokers)!. When they been fertilized after two days a small spot inside appears like a red blood spot, after two days its gets alot bigger, thats the only way to tell!.

I very much doubt eggs in a grocery store have ever been fertilized, they are not normally put with a cock bird unless free range!. Layers are just for laying eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no not true!. they do not keep roosters near the chickens for producing eggs!. Especially ones purchased in a gocery store!. The chickens were never meant to produce chicks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
