Are flash frozen vegetables considered processed food?!

Question: Are flash frozen vegetables considered processed food!?
Or is it just as fresh as the regular products being sold at markets!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
They are consider processed food, because they undergo cleaning, blanching and freezing !.!.!. all considered "processing"

BUT!.!.!. they may actually be fresher and better in nutrients than some of the fresh food you get in your supermarket!. Fruits and veggies you see at the grocery produce department may have been picked underripe and shipped thousands of miles over a week or two to get there!. Just consider how long it has taken some fruits and veggies that come from places like Brazil or China!

Stuff you get at your local farmer's market is generally much fresher, and a better environmental choice, since it is only trucked 20 -30 miles to get to you, as opposed to the average of 1500 miles that store foods take to get to your plate (think of the air or truck fuel that uses!!)

Flash Frozen on the other hand, is picked at the peak of ripeness, shipped to the processor and usually bathed, hot tubbed, and frozen in their little poly within 8-10 hours of leaving the field!. Higher in nutrients than their :"store fresh" counterparts!.

So - first choice - fresh from your local farm stand --- but i'd say frozen is not a bad choice at all! Www@FoodAQ@Com
