My mom wanted to buy meat that expires tomorrow?!
we were at the checkout in the grocery store and i see a pack of meat in the stroller that expires tomorrow(chicken) and its 50% off for quick sale, and she wants to cook it in about two or three days
so i say: mom, thats disgusting
and she said: you have to eat it, theres nothing wrong with it
and i thought to myself: im not gonna risk getting sick for you to save 3 dollars
was i right to think that or not !?
is there anything actually wrong with recently expired meat !?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
The date is a sell by date and has nothing to do with whether the meat is spoiled or not!.

Meat matures, but as long as no bacteria get in, it meliorates, ripens, gets better! :)
It grows more soft, crumbly, aromatical! :)
A German top cook here in America lets his steaks mature several weeks, until they are mouldry,
and people can′t wait to pay 150$ each for this exquisite luxurious pleasure;)
Your mom is providing you a top notch deli - but gets it as a bargain!.:) Your mom is a wise person!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It was probably a sell-by date and not an expiration date!. They purposely make the sell-by date before the expiration date because they know that people probably aren't going to make it right when they buy it!. As long as it's been stored properly (refrigerated), it'll be fine for half a week to almost a week after!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
haha its funny i ran across this question cause last night i had a dream i ate expired roast beef out of the trashcan in my kitchen!. but anyways, meat tends to have a sell by date!.!.!.you should be ok to eat it, especially if its frozen, it lasts longer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You're actually just a tad overdramatic but you'll outgrow it!.
Step outside your box!. Perhaps she was going to, oh, I don't know!.!.!.!.FREEZE IT!. And meat can last in the freezer for as little as 6 months to a year!.
Its a mighty big world out there, welcome to it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do that all the time, but I usually freeze what im not going to eat that day or the next!. Three days might be pushing it, but one day would be ok!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If she freezes it, it's fine!.
That date means to use, or freeze by!.
And the meat will be good for a few days after that date anyways!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes because they don't actually put the expiration date on there till it actually gets there you never ever eat something that's about too expire tomorrowWww@FoodAQ@Com
If she freezes it prior to cooking it, then there will be no harm what so ever!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
i would use it one day past expiration date, no longer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You are right! I would never eat expired meat in a million years if it was expired!. There are some heath issues involved especially in chicken!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
