What's the difference in ingredients in pizza sauce and spaghetti sauce? Or is it just a matter of marketing a?!
Answers:
The big difference between the two is the spices and a few other items as follows as I make my own from scratch all the time!.
Pizza Sauce is as follows!.
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste 1 1/2 cups water 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil 2 cloves garlic, minced salt to taste ground black pepper to taste 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano 1/2 tablespoon dried basil 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
Spaghetti Sauce
Tomatoes - about 20 lbs cooked down and seeds and skin removed
1/2 cups chopped onions 3 Tablespoons of oregano 2 cloves of garlic, minced 4 bay leaves 2 Tablespoons diced, fresh OR dried basil 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1/4 cup chopped celery 2 Tablespoons chopped green peppers 1 teaspoon salt 2 Tablespoons olive oil 1/4 red wine (optional) Mushrooms up to 1 lb!. And if you like your spaghetti sauce thick, add 2 Tablespoons corn starch

Pizza sauce is a tad thicker than pasta sauce, and it has Italian seasonings such as Oregano, I personally use Pasta sauce cause it is cheaper and I can add my own seasonings if I want to, and there is a cost difference!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
It depends on the seasonings!. I wouldn't want a bland tomato pizza sauce for my spaghetti sauce, and I don't think my pizza would need all the herbs and stuff of a spaghetti sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think pizza and spagetti sauce taste different, and I would also think that pizza sauce is much thicker than spagetti sauce!. I have never made pizza sauce from scratch so I don't know about the ingredients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It's almost the same exact sauce!. Sometimes pizza sauce has a little more herb taste!. But I use spaghetti sauce when I do home-made pizza!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
