What foods should I buy with my last few Euro?!

Question: What foods should I buy with my last few Euro!?
Just been made redundant!. This will be my last pantry stock up for a while!. What do you recommend buying that will last for 2 adults until I find a new job in this recession!? Help!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Rice & pasta, Tinned Italian Tomatoes, Onions, olive oil and a good selection of herbs and spices!. Back in 1986 I survived for an entire academic year for less than £100!. Probably costs a bit more now, but a 10 kg bag of basmati will last two of you a good couple of months!. The trick is to go to markets/supermarkets as they are closing!. You can normally get them to mark down fresh produce/meat that they would have had to throw away!. Don't be afraid to haggle!.
