Crockpots aren′t any good!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try rubbing it lightly with oil, before putting it away, it could be stale air trapped under the lid, whilst in the cupboard, and then rinsing it out before you place ingredients in it!. This might work just a thought, I always leave a oily film on all my tins and cooking crocks, also stops things like this, and going rusty!. Remember some crocks are pourous and may take on board odours!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe the cleaner you're using!? If it is a major brand, you could contact them!. I've never heard of this issue before!.

To eliminate possibilities, try crock pot liners!. If nothing else, these plastic cooking bags make clean-up better!.

Try to add a little wine, mild vinegar or lemon juice, depending on what you are cooking!. The long cooking makes the acid notes in food bland, and adding a bit of one of those ingredients will perk up the dish and make it taste more fresh!.

Turn your crock pot on low and add water and about 1 tablespoon of baking soda, let this heat up for 6 hrs!. After-wards wash it out this should help!. I don't know how old your crock pot is but if this doesn't work it is time to replace your crock pot!.!.

Honestly I can't tell you why this awful taste and odor is happening to your crock pot!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if the flavor isn't food related, try cooking some plain water and then after 6 or 8 hours, try to isolate the smell!. YOu might need to replace the crock pot!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
