Why does a sausage roll not have a sausage in it instead of sausagemeat?!

Question: Why does a sausage roll not have a sausage in it instead of sausagemeat!?
Sorry about the weird question!. My Dad just suddenly asked it whilst watching England v Belarus!.!.!. What an idiot!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Many reasons really:
1!. because a sausage in a casing would taste gross inside pastry
2!. because sauages give off a fair amount of fat when they cook which would make the pastry all soggy and oily
3!. Because when factories make them they squeeze the sausagemeat through a piping nozzle in long rows, they can't process whole sausages
4!. because sausage meat is made so that it doesn't run out of the ends of the sausage roll

that help at all!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

a sausage roll is pastry filled with sausage meat

a roll on sausage is a bread roll filled with link or square sausage

hope I helpedWww@FoodAQ@Com

Your dad makes perfect sense!.

If there is skin on the sausage, its much harder to eat!. I've tried it!. Its good for the juices to flow into the pastry a little!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A sausage needs the skin to hold the meat together when cooking!. A sausage roll holds the meat together so no need for the skin!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

because it tastes better in a roll broken up
on sandwich its better left whole or split in halfWww@FoodAQ@Com

because the pastry would not stick to the skin i think!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

'cause then it would be more like a hot dog!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

i thinks a sausage wont go in the shape of a sausage rollWww@FoodAQ@Com
