Do microwaves have an expiration date on them?!
I received an used microwave as a gift from a co-worker (I am a volunteer) because she recently had a new one installed above her stove!.
I started to notice that my foods are not warm/hot in the 5~7 minutes they should be ready!. So, instead of the 7 minutes, I warm it for 7 minutes and 15secs!.
Do microwaves have an expiration date!? For example, if you bought a microwave in 2002 (the one that I received looks new!), since it's 2008 now, should I replace it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should replace it when it wears out!. Simple as that!. There is no hard, set rule!. Things break, get old, etc!.!.!.!.!.!.!.if you're not happy with how it is working, buy a new one!.
I've been married 25 years and we're only on microwave #2!.
But you do realize that just because a food says it will be ready in 5 minutes does not mean a hard, fast 5 mintues for every single microwave in the world!. It certainly varies!. What power microwave do you have!? Most directions for food are prepared using a 1000 watt microwave!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
