My Friend Says Ice Takes Up Most Of The Drink...Is This True?!

Question: My Friend Says Ice Takes Up Most Of The Drink!.!.!.Is This True!?
Everytime We Go To A Fast Food Restraunt He Orders Something With No Ice!.!.!.I Ask Him Why Do U Do That!? And He Says Because The Ice Absorbs Some Of The Soda!.!.!.!.Is This True!?!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
The ice doesn't absorb the soda, it dilutes it and initially it displaces the liquid!. Crushed ice displaces even more soda, resulting in you receiving less soda!. It's the same as if you got into a bathtub full of water!. If you fill the tub to the top when you get in it will overflow, while if you get in it then fill it up when you get out the water level is lower!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I usually order little ice in my soda!. It doesn't soak up the drink!. What it does is it takes up the space in the glass and makes it look like you have more to drink than what is really there!.also the ice can melt if you leave it long enough and it water downs your drink!. I also like my soda not real cold!. In restaurants they also add lots of ice to the tea that they serve!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

yep!.!.!.

take 2 containers!. smallish like half a cup!.

put one in the freezer!. ice expands!. so the fact that you put it in a drink to begin with it takes space, but in ice form it takes even more!.

That being said I LOVE LOVE the colder the better drinks!.

At home whatever I make I want ice with so I will put some in the freezer and freeze it and add it to my drink of the same kind to make it colder!.

Your friend is right!. BUT if they have free refills anyway, get the ice in it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I always ask for little ice or easy on the ice because with all that ice,it's like you're being ripped off!.Next time you finish your drink open up the cup and you will see more than half the cup is filled with ice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the ice takes up the space that the soda would Www@FoodAQ@Com

yup!. he's right!Www@FoodAQ@Com
