Answers:
For me, the answer is butter!.
Here are some of the facts:

-They both have the same amount of calories!.
-Margarine can increase heart disease in women at a higher percentage than butter, according to a Harvard Medical Study!.
-Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats!.
-Margarine is high in trans fatty acids!.
-Margarine increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)!.
-Margarine lowers quality of breast milk!.
-Margarine decreases immune response!.
-The trans fat in margarine can increase blood insulin levels, which increases the risk for diabetes!.
-Butter has more vitamin content, and any beneficial nutrients in margarine are added!.
-Margarine is less natural!.
-Heart doctors recommend butter over normal margarine, but recommend trans fat free margarines over butter!.

It is sort of a matter of what's important to you but I like the taste of butter better than margarine and prefer to not have unnecessary chemicals in my body!.

butter is high in saturated fat so not great for you in large doses!. margarine isn't good for you because it is hydrogenated (they bombard the chemicals in margarine with hydrogen atoms to make it hard!.!. that's why it comes in little squares)!.
better for you if you want to use margarine is the non-hydrogenated stuff that comes in a big tub!. i use it for cooking and baking and have never had any problems with consistency or taste (i wouldn't use it to make buttercream icing though- did that once and you really do need the butter for that)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

butter is better for you and much, much better tasting!.!.!.everything in moderation Www@FoodAQ@Com

Neither is good for you!. Butter has a lot of fat and margarine has a lot of chemicals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

LOW FAT BUTTER!.!.!.Smart ChoiceWww@FoodAQ@Com
