A bagel is made from a heavier, not so sweet dough!. It is usually boiled & then baked!. They have many varieties such as onion, sesame, poppy seeds & other savory things!.

A donut is made from a sweet dough with a lot of yeast & they rise & are then deep fried in oil!. They are then iced or rolled in sugar or glazed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A doughnut is fried and sweet, a bagel is boiled then baked and is not sweet!. I am a former chef and have made both by hand and lived in areas were they made them fresh in bakery's!. And here in Canada we have alot of donut shopsWww@FoodAQ@Com

a doughnut is usually glazed, or with frosting, but if you are referring to the original doughnut, with nothing on or added to it, i honestly don't knowWww@FoodAQ@Com

The taste is the major difference!. A bagel tastes alot like sour dough bread and is heavy in texture whereas, donuts have a fluffy texture and are very delicious!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I donut is generally sweeter than the bagel, though either can we sweet!. And I'm also assuming that they are made to a different taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

donuts are sweet, bagels aren't!Www@FoodAQ@Com
