Why can't they cut hot dog buns evenly?!
I mean really, you always get hot dog buns and one side is a lot thicker and one side is flat while the other is rounded!. Why can't it be even and both sides rounded!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Haha, actually I ponder about that too!.
But when you think about it, it's understandable that one side will be flat while the other is rounded because of the way it's cooked!.
When bakers put dough in the oven, the one at the bottom gets cooked flat (gravity) while the one on top puffs up and becomes smooth and rounded!. Then they turn it on its side and cut it in half!.
Why they cut it at the side and not from the top is intriguing though!. Here in Japan they don't serve uneven hot dog buns because they cut it from the top!.
I wonder which one would be easier to eat!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not only is it because of a machines flaws, but because it gives the bun a side to rest on!. if you had them both evenly rounded, they would look lopsided with a hot dog inside!. It also has to do with the baking!.
If you baked your own hot dog bun, no matter how hard you tried, it would be flat on one side!. This is because when the dough rests on one side and bakes, the side becomes flat!. This cannot really be avoided, unless you came up with a hot dog bun mold!.
That would make a great invention! Get to work! :DWww@FoodAQ@Com

The hot dog buns are cut by machine!. The machine is not accurate enough to cut the buns perfectly so they are often cut uneven!. Probably upgrading the machine is too expensive for such a minor thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I know -that is so annoying!Www@FoodAQ@Com
