Question: Well, my dogs finally killed the neighbors cat!. It jumped the fence sometime yesterday and they got it!. so, !?
I get home from work yesterday and all three of them are sitting there proud as can be over this dead cat!. Normally, you would just get it out of the yard right!? BUT, not with these dogs, they keep picking it up and running with it like it's a game!. The question is, how do I tell the neighbor, who, used to have a thing with my guy, my dogs killed her cat as she will be looking for him by tonight!. She doesn't like me and still has a grudge against him for dumping her!. I can't hide the cat as the dogs keep playing with it and I can't get it away from them and neither him nor I want to go over to say anything to her, but I feel one/both of us have to!. what do you think!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
put the dead cat in a trash bag and throw it away!. and if she askes if youve seen her cat say you havent seen it in a few days but youll call her if you see it!. unless she saw your dogs kill it shell think it just ran away!. or throw the dead cat in the middle of the street at night so she thinks it got hit by a car!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You need to shoot your dogs for a start!.!.!.
Vicious dogs like that shouldn't be allowed in civilised society - Consider yourself lucky it wasn't your neighbour's child that was mauled to death!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

oh wow!. you need to tell her a pet is part of someones family and its not fair to keep something like that from someone!. also the both of you should go over that way it would look better!. it would be nice to get a sympathy card!.

You should accept responsibility and tell your neighbor!.!.!. I also think you should offer to get her a new kitten or cat!.!. imagine if it were the other way around, and her animal killed yours!.!.!. you would want restitution, right!?

Do the right thing!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

You have to tell them, you have no right to keep that away from them, you need to punsih your dogs for doing that, its very sad and you need to take responsibility and apologise to your neighbour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Why are you in the food section asking this (add your own colorful adjective here) question!? Are you considering the cat food!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

get it and hide it and keep your mouth shut!. She could get your dogs taken and labeled as vicious!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i like the story i can imagine ure dogs killin the cat its soo cool and funny:pWww@FoodAQ@Com

You wont get many answers here, unless you want to know about how to cook game animals!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

either tell her that the dogs ate it!.
or if you dont want to, maybe go get another cat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Oh no, ! Www@FoodAQ@Com

How gross that your dogs want to play with a dead cat!. You really should get the thing away from them though and if they aren't 'letting' you, then your dogs are too aggressive and disobedient and you've got an even bigger issue than 1 dead cat!.

I feel for the cat, but I am a passionate believer cats shouldn't be allowed outdoors and this is exactly the reason!. If cats are going to be allowed to run free, then so should dogs, and when they meet, the cat is going to lose!.

I wouldn't tell the neighbour!. She can make whatever assumptions she wants!.!.does it really matter!? Chances are the cat would have been hit by a car for all she knows and seeing as though you two don't have a good rapport, I would let it go!.

Next time it might not be a cat that your dogs go after, but a small child and do you want to have jail time because you couldn't keep them contained!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

It sounds harsh, but "chad c" is right!. How would you feel if you came home from work and saw three dogs frolicking around and playing keep away with your cat's corpse!. It's not your fault that they killed it, it shouldn't have tempted them!. I've seen cats play that game before!. But you should be able to tell them to drop it!. If they don't know this simple command, then you don't spend enough time with them!. They should love AND respect you!.
Get the cat's corpse, put it in a nice shoebox or something, take a deep breath, and apologize honestly with your neighbor!. If she doesn't like you anyway, why should you care what she thinks!? Rest knowing that you did the right thing!.
The worst that could happen is she calls the police!. Chances are that they'll give you a warning when you tell them that the cat sometimes jumps over your fence and teases the dogs!. If you let your dogs out of the fence and they got the cat, that would be a different story!.
Just tell her that you're very sorry, but her cat jumped over your fence and the dogs killed it!. It's going to hurt her no matter how you say it!. And have the corpse wrapped up or something!. Show the poor little thing a bit of respect!. Show her that you're regretful, and maybe even offer to help her give him a burial!. Even if she doesn't realize it at the time, she would hate you much more later if you didn't show respect!. Who knows!? She might even realize your kindness later and warm up to you more!. It's possible!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would go tell them about it but you do not need to be on the defense!. A dog is an animal and their instinct is to kill those who cross the line!. You dogs need to be told NO but you have to understand that this is just built within their DNA!. As a pet owner, your neighbor is responsible to contain his/her animals!. His coming onto your property is out of your control!. The reaction of your dogs (who are within your property) is also out of your control!.

Nobody wants to see their pet killed so I would be show sympathy!. If she tries to place a verbal attack on you, make sure you remind her that the cat was on your property and your dogs were only doing what they are programmed to do!. This is not your fault and it is not your dogs or her cat's fault!. This is mother nature and a reality of owning pets!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Buy a sympathy card and put it in her mail box!. Explain that the cat was in your back yard and what happened!. You may wish to print some articles from the Internet about the risks that owners of cats take when they let their cat outside!. I own 3 cats and all have collars and go outdoors!. I have been told that a cayote can have an unfortunate encounter with them, and of course there is always the danger of cars!. It is a risk I am fully willing to take and I understand the consesquences!. Your neighbor took this risk and these are the consequences!. People may disagree with me about letting my cats out, but I know my cats love exploring and cats are curious by nature!. It seems unnatural to me to lock my cats indoors permanantly!.

first, take the cat away from the dogs!. don't tell me you can't get it from them!. if you can't, then you don't deserve to have one dog, let alone 3!. next, tell your neighbor what happened!. it might be tough, but it's not your fault!. the cat should have been smart enough not to tempt 3 dogs!. ask her if she wants the body, if not, throw it in the trash!. this isn't something you should need to ask other people!. common sense is a lost art!.
