Stew is usually thicker than soup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
a stew is a combination of solid ingredients that have been cooked in water, typically by simmering and that are then served without being drained!.!. while the soup is a food that made by combining ingredients with meat & veges in stuck or boiling water until the flavor is extracted forming a broth!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I usually go by the thickness (thin is soup, thick is stew) but dictionary!.com doesn't have any real differences listed!. It looks like stew is generally meat-based and cooked slowly, while soup can have more ingredients (lots of vegetables, etc) and may be simmered but can also be boiled quickly!. You'll have to ask someone with a culinary degree for more information :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Soup is usually all veg either with lentils, split peas,or barley to thicken the soup up!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
