Question: Why do some butter containers reads, "SPREADABLE"!.!.!?
isn't all butter spreadable!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Gosh real butter does NOT spread very well at all!. Haven't you tried it JJ!? :) Take out a cube of it out of the fridge and give it a try!. You can destroy your toast that way ha!Www@FoodAQ@Com

The "spreadable" Butters are whipped to put more air into it and that keeps it soft enough to spread, because cold butter doesn't spread!.

Some have oil added but not many!.

It usually costs twice as much for the spreadable stuff too!. Look at the weight of the package, 4-8 ounce tub of spreadable cost similar to 1 pound of real butter!.

Butter straight from the fridge doesn't spread very well!.

Some manufacturers mix butter with vegetable oil so that it spreads straight from the fridge and call it spreadable butter, because it still tastes like butter but is softer and easier to spread!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sure if it's at room temperature!. Real butter is harder than lets say promise or I Can't believe it's not butter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

most butter in containers is spreadable but try spreading stick butter Www@FoodAQ@Com

They even have sprayable butter, for those too lazy to spread it!Www@FoodAQ@Com
