About a minute after you slice open the fruit, why does bits of bright orange color appear inside!? Is that normal!? It doesn't happen to the bigger Florida avocados, which stays green all over inside!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

By God you're right!
They turn black instead!
It is still cause by oxygen getting to the meat of the fruit!.
The most common way to stop it is to use lemon juice as a preservative, but that changes the flavor!.
The other way is to cover directly with plastic wrap in contact with the fruit!.
BTW, the avocado, was originally called the guacca by the native Aztec!.
The spanish word for paste is mole (pronounced; Mo-lay)
Put it together, and you get guacamole!.
