Drinking bottled water that has been sitting in the car or in your house?!

Question: Drinking bottled water that has been sitting in the car or in your house!?
I do it all the time, now apparently I hear I am going to get cancer or some sickness!. Is this true!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Yes its true heres why, Plastic is made from oil, when you leave a bottle of anything (any drink) in a warm house or car the plastic releases chemicals (mostly carcinogens) into the liquid, you are not supposed to drink it, you are not supposed to reuse the bottle, so get a Stainless steel bottle (surgical grade stainless steel) and only drink from that!. (not paranoid but they did recall a number of plastic products due to these risks)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have never heard anyone of authority say that water left in your car would cause cancer, or anything else!. I cannot say with any authority that you cannot get it, either!. What I have heard is that no water should be stored more that 3 months!.

I live on the South Gulf Coast, where we had Hurrican Ike, and also have regular reminders on the evening news to prepare for severe weather!. I heard, during a recent news repotr we should not store water beyond the three month period!. The reporter did not say why, but in my experience water left in bottles for more than a month just plain tastes bad! You get the same experience when you leave water in plastic cup overnight!.
