Are there more nutrients in the stem of broccoli, or the bushy top part?!
I know this seems like a silly question, but a lot of times I only eat the firmer, stem part of broccoli cuts, and not the soft busy part at the top!. I know that a lot of times, certain parts of veggies are more nutritious, such as the skin of potatoes!. So, just curious!

The floretes (the bushy parts) contain much more nutrients than the stems!. You could say that the florets are healthier than the stems!. Broccoli is high in minerals and vitamins such as beta carotene, calcium, iron, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, and vitamin C!. But there is more beta carotene in the florets than there is in the rest of the plant!. And the darker the green color of the florets, the higher the beta carotene and vitamin C content!. Although raw broccoli is healthy, cooking releases more of the nutrients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Cooked broccoli or raw!? If its raw or steamed, the bushy parts have more iron and such, but if it like baked or boiled, none of it has many nutrients anymore!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I don't know but you're weird because you like the stems of brocolli :)
I prefer the bushy part!.!.!.not that I particularly prefer brocolli, but that's beside the matter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

All parts are nutritious!. Use the tops as well as the stems, trim the very bottom eighth of an inch off and use the rest!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
