Answers:
Skin produces pigment based on a variety of factors including influence from sunlight and genetics (these factors largely determine darkness)!. Another factor is food we take in!. If someone were to eat a lot of carrots frequently, the carotenoids in the vegetable will appear in the color orange usually around the palms or feet!.

Another example is flamingos, which are pink due to their diet, high in shrimp!. So yes, it is true!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, it is true!. I suffered from anorexia when I was a teenager and in my early 20s and all I would eat was carrots and sometimes celery!. My hands turned orange!. Everyone noticed it!. There actually is a name for it!. I know the actress Susan Dey had this same problem as a teen trying to maintain thinness on "The Partridge Family!." All she would eat was carrots too!. Try going to wikipedia!.org and checking her out!. No, I didn't get the idea from her, it was from my own head!. I was surprised to find out other people did this!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Basically, if you eat a vegetable, for instance, of a certain color in large and lengthy amounts, your pigment will take the color a bit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
