What does pumpkin taste like?!

Question: What does pumpkin taste like!?
In the UK - pumpkin is not generally used in cooking & I've never tried it!. What does the taste remind you of!? Is pumpkin pie usually savoury or sweet!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It is very creamy and usualy seasoned with cinnamon, ginger and cloves!. The pies are mildly sweet!. Most people use canned pumpkin since cooking it fresh takes a long time and peeling a pumpkin is a lot of work!. I would say the taste is closer to sweet potato than corgettes, which it is closely related to!. So the pies are kind of like a dense cinnamon/ginger pudding!.

Pumpkin is hardly ever eaten as a plain vegetable!. It is almost always served in a pie at Thanksgiving though!. It is very healthy since it is loaded with vitamin A!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

plain pumpkin is similar to sweet potatoes but not as sweet!. The taste in pies comes from the spices--similar to those in sweet potato pie!.

ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground cloves!. Just ask if you would like a pumpkin pie recipe, I have a world famous recipe used for at least 2 generations in my family!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Have you had acorn or butternut squash!? Its very similar in taste & texture, or a sweet potatoe or yam!.

Unsweetened its like squash, but its mostly used in sweets, like pie, cookies, bars and muffins!. Its mostly mixed with spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My family is Canadian, so we have Pumpkin Pie every year at thanksgiving!. It is sort of like a vegetable like Parsnip or something!. But when it is in a pie and you have whipped cream, it is the nicest sweetest thing everWww@FoodAQ@Com
