Popcorn ball accident?!
i was trying to make popcorn balls!.!. i followed the recipe, except that i didnt have corn syrup, so i made a simple sugar syrup (sugar and water)!. Then when I prepared the popcorn balls, instead of becoming sticky, everything crystalized on the popcorn!!! what went wrong, and how do i avoid it next time!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

What went wrong is that you didn't use corn syrup!. Corn syrup is very different from just sugar and water and you really can't substitute anything for corn syrup!. Just buy some corn syrup for next time!. Sugar and water will crystallize every time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I probably would have used a different recipe if you didn't have the ingredients on hand like a butter or cream based caramel recipe!. Candy can be tricky!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
