When making candy the corn syrup reacts a little differently when added with regular sugar, it helps prevent crystals from forming when the sugar is melted down!.
So if you are making candy at home you can also add a little corn syrup to your sugar when cooking and you also will get a nice smooth crystal free candy!.

Maybe it is cheaper!. I've always tried to stay away from it!. Despite those seemingly innocuous pro-corn syrup commercials, I still try my best to avoid it!. It is almost everywhere!. You can find it in most breads (strange huh!?), lots of processed foods, candy, and liquid candy (soda)!. I heard that cattle are fed corn and corn syrup to fatten them up faster!. I think sugar is better, but I try not to use it as much either because my family tends towards diabetes!. I really like stevia, because it is 10x sweeter than sugar, but doesn't affect your blood sugar levels!. Hope this helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

they use corn syrup as a sweetener b/c its cheaper to use then other ingredients in its class also they use corn syrup to aid farmers corn syrup was first denied in the early 1900's by the FDA then approved later in the century b/c the govt wanted to aid farmers!. there is no good about corn syrup it gives you cancer it poisons you basically and makes you FAT i work in the food industry for 5 years now i have personally seen the effects of what food ingredients do to people and i also go to vocational school and trade school for this it (corn syrup) when ingested sits in the human body and doesn't get processed sugar that doesn't get processed turns to fat tis fat causes all kinda of fhealth defects diabetes obesity look at the smokin europe girls and look at our american girls!?!? see the difference that is corn syrup there for you europope doesn't use corn syrup they use all natural sugar cane the BIG THING IS MONEY thats why they use it and it ebasically kills people now there are foods that you can buy aka all natural that have none of this **** and other CHEMICALS in it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
