Well ... I've seen duck and hen eggs in supermarkets but never ostriches ...?!
Do you think they will ever sell them!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Highly unlikely 'cos they would have to be imported - haven't seen any ostriches waltzing around the UK lately!!
I used to use them quite often in South Africa where I worked in a game reserve - one egg is the equivalent to 34 hens eggs and it takes some doing to get inside them!!
You have to drill a hole in the top 'cos the egg shell is so hard, then pierce the membrane and blow the egg out!. That way you keep the shell intact 'cos they're quite cool!.
They taste slightly richer than a hens egg and the yolk is a deep yellow colour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can get them in specialty stores or larger grocery stores that have a specialty food section!. You buy them individually, not in dozens!. I believe the BIGGS stores in the Cincinnati, Ohio area have them, and I know Jungle Jim's just north of Cincinnati has them!. I also believe places like Cabellas, the sporting good stores carry them, I know you can get exotic meats and stuff at the one in Dundee, Michigan!. I also know where an Ostrich farm is in Ohio along Rt!. 68!. If you seriously want one, I would look up specialty food stores in your area, call and ask!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Probably not!. They used to have an ostrich stall at the market in my town where they old the eggs and meat etc!. but that's it!. Think it would probably be too expensive to sell in supermarkets and not many people like to try new suff!.
I think ostrich tastes like chicken but hey, doesn't everything!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

How many people have ostriches though to be able to supply eggs!? They'd be really massive anyway!. You'd really want to like eggs a lot to get through one by yourself :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com
An ostrich egg is equal to about 2 dozen chicken eggs!. You can buy them, but fertile eggs are advertised for about $1,250!.00 per egg!. Kind of cost prohibitive for most of us!Www@FoodAQ@Com
no the egg cups cost to much +you would need a 7lb spoon to crack the top of a boiled one!.
