Does anyone have any advice for picky eaters? My son is 9 and only likes, pasta, rice, bread, and pizza?!
It is impossible to cook for him and I do not think he is getting enough nutrition!. He likes Steak, but only at "Outback", or on the grill!.

you can put pizza and spaghetti together!. try this recipe my kids love it!!!
1st layer - little bit of condensed mik w/ mozzarella cheese
2nd layer - spaghetti (cooked)
3rd layer - mozzarella cheese
4th layer - sausage or pepperoni (or your fav!. meat)
5th layer - spaghetti sauce
6th layer - mozzarella cheese
7th layer - pepperoni
now you can change it up to however you like add whatever ingredients you would like!. my kids ask for this at least 2x a monthWww@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe he likes Hawaiian pizza with pineapples and ham, which seems nutritious enough!. Have you ever tried putting mushrooms or meat in the pasta!? There are many different kinds of rice, and you could always do up vegetables and add them in, see how that works!. What about whole wheat bread!? Have you ever tried putting peppers on his steak!?
If none of this works, simply tell him that he at least has to eat a bit of other stuff, just so he stays healthy!. That's really the only way!. He HAS to eat better food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I was a picky eater all my life, and only now am I starting to eat more healthy food!. I slightly blame my parents for not making me eat healthier through my childhood, and just giving in to my pickyness!.
I'm no parent, I don't know what it's like to be one, but still I would advise you to try to explain to him how important it is to eat healthy food, like fruits, vegetables, dairy and meat!. Even if the first few times he wants to throw up, tell him that it's important!. also set a good example and eat lots of salads yourself!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well he is definetly getting his grains in!.!. he doesnt like any veggie or fruit!? Try adding things to those few items like, different sauces to the pasta and chunks of meat and tomatos or meat balls!.!.try putting some sliced tomatoes and cheese (prov, mozz) on top of the bread and toast it!.!.!.add more toppings to the pizza like veggies or meats!.!.!.just try to slide some in there one thing at a time so he wont notice and just keep adding things!.!.he will eventually start liking things like adults do!.!.not every kid stays that picky their whole lives!. Get those thin steaks for him, they are cheap if you eat something else!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I feel for you!.
My boys were never picky eaters, but I did a few things that may have curtailed it before I had to face it!.
1!. Nothing was called by the right name!. We ate worms (noodles) with rocks (meatballs) trees (broccoli) bat wings (chicken wings) mummy fingers ( hot dogs with crescent roll wrapped around it) You get the idea!.
2!. Everyone is allowed 2 or 3 dislikes!. One boy hates tomatoes!. One boy has to have something cold at each meal!.
3!. the boys helped fix meals!. I bought the grocery's they helped fix!.
4!. We ate what we wanted our kids to eat!.
Good luck

try to expand his palate, especially by experimenting with pasta dishes (i!.e!. a curry made with noodles) and just cut off his pizza supply, give him a blank menu with choices for a month and he can only use pasta, rice, etc!. onceWww@FoodAQ@Com
I was a picky eater and the way my parents dealt with it was I had to cook my own meals!. He just craves carbs because he burns calories faster than an adult does!. Maybe Hamburger Helper!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
