Answers:
Probably might get some vitamins but the health benefits are from the minerals in the leaves and berries that are beneficial to the body and not forgetting there isn't any caffeine in them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Herbal teas have a lot of health benefits!. They are done since centuries and every "witch" knew her herbs!. Here is a little selection:
http://www!.teabenefits!.com/herbal-tea-be!.!.!.
However as much as we like certain smells in the prepacked and bagged variety!.!.there is not much health benefit or vitamins left,( here is your tea)
http://www!.thedailyplate!.com/nutrition-c!.!.!.

you need fresh herbs for this one ( unless Vitamins are added) If you want the ultimate Vitamin C boost try fresh rosehip!.

I love however the Relax Tea from Pukka ;-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are various benefits from herbal tea - but tend to be from preparations you make yourself as who knows what is really in a packet of marketed tea purporting to be "herbal" There are vitamins, minerals, antioxdiants etc!. and this is precisely why the tea is taken!.

These teas were developed by!.!.!.call them what you will!.!.!.herbalists, naturopaths, natural therapists and were used along with other herbal 'remedies' as a medication!. These were regarded as unorthodox forms of medicine by orthodox practitioners aka doctors of the era!. Although much medication derives from plant material, anyone developing such 'medicine' via a herbal remedy was frowned upon and regarded as a witch!. But look back through history and 'herbal' remedies have proven throughout time!.

In saying all this a herbal 'tea' is/was prescribed for a specific ailment/vitamin deificiency etc!. eg!. chamomile is for sleeplessness and stress, peppermint is for indigestion, strawberry clover or raspberry is to aid lactation in mothers and so on!. The herbal tea is prescribed for a specific time eg!. daily or thrice daily for a two week period and then stopped or another 'remedy' prescribed!. Just because these teas are natural [as is everyday tea] and caffeine/tannin free it is not something to be taken on a regular basis!. You need to look at what your body needs and for how long!. An exampe is the cravings many expectant mother have - usually some form of vitamin/mineral/protein etc!. deficiency!.

I had a friend into peppermint tea who drank this during her pregnancy until I told her that it is for digestion and increases peristalsis in the intestine ie!. increased muscle activity!. I added that because it promotes muscle activity it does it all over the body eg!. the uterus and there is a risk that miscarriage results [something she had experienced 6 months earlier]!.

You need to inform yourself properly before drinking anything - even Coca Cola was a herbal remedy [I think as a stimulant-hyperactivity] and to keep people awake longer!.!.!.!.look how it is drunk these days as an everyday beverage! Silly people!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
