Question: Question about sell by dates on American food!?
My sister brought back a box of ding dongs and a box of twinkies from the states!. The sell by on the twinkies says November 10 and on the ding dongs says November 15!. Does this mean 2010 or the 10th of November and 2015 or the 15th November!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
As the previous answers have suggested, the sell-by date will be the 10 and 15th November, respectively!.
The food will be perfectly edible for, depending on the ingredients, up to six weeks after the "best before" date!. The date is so-called because the food tastes at its best if consumed on or before the stated date!. A little-known fact is that M&S donates its out-of-date food -- that, of course, is still perfectly edible -- to orphanages and children's charities in order to keep homeless children fed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the cakes are for this year but, why don't you freeze what you don't eat and defrost later or they're just as good frozen

It means the 10th or 15th of November!. However they will still be fine to eat a while after the "Sell by" date!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's this year, so finish them up, they might last another month,
but won't be as tasty :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
