Cappucinos and Lattes are the same thing?!

Question: Cappucinos and Lattes are the same thing!?
OK here's my angle, are you paying attention!? Some days I will ask for a latte but occasionally I will opt for a cappucino!. Now please feel free to disagree with this but after downing about 300 takeaway coffees a year for 15 years I have formed the opinion that cappucinos and lattes are exactly the same!. My theory is that they may have been different at some point in the past but coffee shops have changed the way they make them!. What do you think, am I just some crazy drooling buffoon with bad hair or have I uncovered the bitter sordid truth!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
they essentially are the same, except a cappucino is supposed to be mostly espresso with only froth or foam on top, a latte is usally 1/4 espresso and the rest steamed milk!.

Most places don't really know how to make them correctly and interchange them a lot, also if they are not using fresh milk every time from the carton, you can get scorched or overcooked milk which tastes badWww@FoodAQ@Com

The difference is in the bean!. The bean used in Cappucino is the espresso bean!. it is cooked well done, to almost burnt!. That is why you get the strong coffee taste!. The latte is made from a more traditional bean, and usually more milk is added than coffee!. Cappucino refers to the steamed milk that produces the frothy topping!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
