If you had to personally kill the animals yourself to eat meat, would you do it?!
I for one would never do so!. Animals are so beautiful and each one has such an amazing personality, even fish! Besides, have you ever held a baby chick or seen a baby calf!? They're so precious! Killing them would be like killing your dog for food when you have other options!. I would convert to vegetarianism in a second!.
However, because we don't have to personally kill them and they're killed in a factory somewhere after living terrible lives in cramped cages we're pretty indifferent about the subject!. It's completely irrational, don't you think!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No!. Half because it'd be horrible and half because it's a lot more trouble than eating a banana!.
And yeah, it's pretty irrational Www@FoodAQ@Com

If I had to eat and feed my family, I have absolutely no reservation about killing a deer or cow or whatever to eat!. Food is food!. Some for you and some for me!.//Www@FoodAQ@Com
if it was a life or death situation where you were out in the wilderness and starving then i don't think you would have a choice!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
I would NEVER kill an animal myself! NEVER!
I would go veggie in a second! without a second thought!

If I had to personally kill them, no, I wouldn't do it!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Short answer: yes!.
As often!? Probably not!. Merely out of convenience!. Being forced to go butcher a pig every time I wanted bacon would be a real pain in the neck!.
Look, I love animals!. I actually think the way we mass-produce meat is less humane than each individual going out and killing his or her own meat!.
But truth be told, I love meat!. It tastes good!. Animals eat one another, and we are simply animals!. Our frontal lobe differentiates us only but so far!.
If you can live your life eating nothing but vegetation, then good for you!. But I enjoy a good steak!. I have killed deer, rabbit, duck, squirrel (Yes, squirrel!) for food!. I wouldn't hesitate to kill a cow for a great t-bone!.
People do grow emotional attachments to certain animals, that much I can understand!. Others feel they are so in tune with animals they could never kill one!. That, too, I can understand!.
I am simply not in the latter group!. If I had a cow from a calf and grew up with it and treated it as a pet, could I kill and eat it!? If it wasn't a life or death situation, probably not!. But, that doesn't mean that I couldn't kill ANY cow!.
This is simply how life works!. Life eats life!. If you live an entirely vegetarian diet, you must supplement yourself with things such as iron!. Some species (cats, for example) MUST be entirely carnivorous because they can't sustain themselves otherwise - they can't synthesize the necessary components for life without eating other animals' flesh!.
All that being said, I agree with your statement!. People would be less inclined to eat meat if they had to go through with killing the animal themselves!.
It is much like the psychology of killing another animal of your own species!. We have innate gag reflexes to seeing human innards and blood!. Just like lions (and other animals) have innate reflexes to seeing their own species' deaths!. Very few species are cannibalistic!. In fact, in most species, it is that same gag reflex that allows them to aggressively practice killing with one another without actually going through with it!. The loser surrenders by exposing its neck (and thus, jugular) to the victor!. The victor sees that as the immediate precursor to the violent death of its counter part and stops!.
When we take guns into consideration, however, people find it much easier to kill another person because it takes the act and makes it so mechanical and distanced!. Just squeeze the trigger!. If the only weapons humans had were melee (read: knife, brick, lead pipe, etc!.) weapons, people would find it much harder to kill!.
The same indifference due to distancing yourself from the actual act of killing applies here, as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have, and do ,and will!. Yes, getting a nice large deer is precious and I can make many meals out of it!. I field dress, skin, butcher, package, smoke, grind and make sausages out of it!. I also hunt for berries and fruit and make my own jam and wine!. I can my veggies from my garden so I even kill vegetables!.
Eating is generally considered a good thing to do!. To have someone else kill for you and then you consume the flesh just makes you a hypocrite that paid a food assassin to feed you or possibly a coward that like to feel they are above it all!.
If I was hungry enough, I would kill my pets and eat them!. I would first kill all other game animals but the pets would be on the menu if needed!. That is just a reality!.
When I die, I imagine something will eat me also!. Whether it be aerobic or anaerobic germs or animals!. I will be dead and it wont matter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's only because most of us haven't grown up having to slaughter and dress our own meats!. I know if I had to I would--we wouldn't eat meat all that often though (skinning and gutting and aging (or whatever) is a whole lot of work and where do you put a whole cow carcass!?)!. I've caught fish, scaled and gut them without any problem and I LOVE fish!. Sure, animals are breathtakingly beautiful but nature also has it set up that there are predators and victims!. Predators thin the herd so the strongest and healthiest one can breed and produce better offspring!. If there were no predators, the herd would soon over populate and many would starve, surcome to diseases from over crowding!. I don't condone using assault weapons and machine guns while hunting, hunting from a plane or helicopter!. I'd find it impossible to be a farmer raising food animals because I tend to get attached and turn them into pets, give them names and how do you kill and eat a pet you know the name of!?
