Question: Fondant help: i can't decide to buy: !?
i plan to make a cake for my brother's birthday!. i am using a 9"13" cake pan!.!. and will be two layers (cake,icing,cake)!. i will be making a gameboy (http://nintendoportal!.com/images/hardwar!.!.!. cake!. which fondant would be good to use:

i would want a fondant that will cover the 9"13" and other details on the cake!. if i buy two of the A ones, will i have enough fondant for everything!? !.!.i know it be much cheaper than the B one!. hmm, I can't decide what to get!.Www@FoodAQ@Com


Answers:
I would suggest choice B, as if its stored properly you can use it again say for another baking project for the holidays!. But if you prefer going with 2 of choice A so be it!.

Buy B so you have enough for detail work and covering the cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should buy 2 packages of A!. 1 package won't be enough for 2 layers of 9 x 13, but 2 should be!. B will be too much so I wouldn't buy the 5 lb package unless you have a lot of other cake baking to do in the near future!. Although I guess you could freeze it if you don't need it now!. They told me in a cake decorating course that I took a few years ago that you can freeze leftover icing and fondant to use later!.
