Answers:
Beef or all-beef: Contains only beef with no soybean protein or dry milk solid fillers added!.

? Kosher: All-beef, usually heavily seasoned with garlic!.

? Meat: A mixture of pork and beef, usually 40 percent pork and 60 percent beef with no fillers!.

? Frankfurter: May contain up to 3!.5 percent fillers and made from a combination of meats

Not really gross at all and this question has been asked many times alreadyWww@FoodAQ@Com

"All hot dogs are cured and cooked sausages that consist of mainly pork, beef, chicken and turkey or a combination of meat and poultry!. Meats used in hot dogs come from the muscle of the animal and looks much like what you buy in the grocer's case!. Other ingredients include water, curing agents and spices, such as garlic, salt, sugar, ground mustard, nutmeg, coriander and white pepper!."

However, there are a couple of caveats!. "Variety meats," which include things like liver, kidneys and hearts, may be used in processed meats like hot dogs, but the U!.S!. Department of Agriculture requires that they be disclosed on the ingredient label as "with variety meats" or "with meat by-products!." Www@FoodAQ@Com

If the package says all-beef, pork, or chicken/turkey, it contains the meat that you basically see on the shelf in the meat department of the store!.

If the package says that they contain fillers or by-products, they include various organs, such as kidneys, livers, and hearts!.

If the package says they contain mechanically-separated meat (MSM), they compress the meat on the bone through a steel sieve and it comes out as a paste!. They then combine this in with the rest of the ingredients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Assuming you're talking about a beef hot dog - and any sausage, for that matter:

Beef!. Salt!. Spices!. Some beef fat!. Some have natural casings (intestines or fat webbing), some are formed with molds!.

The difference is really if you have a commercially made or artisanal made sausage!. The ones made in small batches by an organic farmer are FAR better than any Oscar Meyer brand, and are not "nasty"!. Well, maybe for a vegetarian, but I've seen those vegetarian 'hot dogs' and those are truly scary! If you're going to eat something shaped like a hot dog but tastes like cardboard, what is the point!?

hot dogs are mostly scrap meat!. However there are no snouts, ears or the like in them and no organs!. Mostly hard to get to meat that is attached to the bone!. The only disturbing thing about hot dogs to me is the process in which they are made!. It is poured as a semi liquid!. I think you can youtube the making process!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
