How can I get bananas to ripen more quickly?!
Ok, I am making a banana cream pie to take to my parents for thanksgiving and i bought the stuff to make it on Sunday night!. I bought the most ripe bunch of bananas that I could find(which was still quite green) and left them in the bag to ripen(was always told this would work)!. I intend to make the pie tomorrow evening but the bananas are still partly green(i like them to be starting to get brown spots on the skin, the are sweeter that way)!. Any tips on how I can get them to be at least not green anymore by tomorrow!? Should I put them in the refrigerator!? Are they any ways that might help!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Put an apple in a paper bag with them!. This will speed up the ripening process due to the gasses apples release during ripening!.
Edit: Make sure the top of the paper bag is closed!. If it's just sitting open, the gasses escape and nothing is accomplished!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Leave them out by some place warm!. Either by a heating vent but not too hot or in the window in direct sunlight!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
