No truth to that one!! Her mother probably told her not to put warm things in the fridge! and for a reason!. Once upon a time refrigerators were not automatically frost free!. Putting anything warmer than room temperature added a layer of frost!. Defrosting was time consuming and aggravating!. Not to mention very very messy!. And you had to buy ice to cover the stuff that was frozen or chilled to keep it that way and stash it in wash tubs!.

Our grandmothers cooled things on the cabinet for a reason! Less work if you didn't put warm things in cold spaces!. And no, we didn't die of food poisoning either!Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!. Not at all!.

I buy rotisserie chickens all the time!. I buy them two at a time!. The first one I leave out to cut up into diced chicken for making burritos and stuff!. The other one I put directly into the fridge while still warm!. I have never had one spoil on me, unless I didn't get to it for a week or so!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i never put warm food in the fridge!.
let your food cool to room temp!.
it causes the temp inside the fridge to rise and may make the food already inside spoil faster!.
and makes your fridge run more, wasting energy!.

ps!. i don't eat chickens
just thought i'd help!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i heard that you will get sick because it will cause bacteria to grow on it or something like thatWww@FoodAQ@Com

Never heard of it but I don't think its true!.
