I had two tupperwares with sauce in them in the fridge, one was from last night and the other one was from a week ago!.!.the one that my hubby fed the kids was from a week ago, this one had no meat in it thank GOD! I was out running errands and told him to give them the left over spaghetti for lunch so he had no idea and I completely forgot there were two in there!.!.!.Are the kids gonna be ok since it was a week old!? Im really worried!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
A week isn't that bad if your fridge is working properly!. Tomato sauce is also very acidic and that alone acts as a preservative!. If it was commercial sauce, they put a lot of preservatives and even more flavor enhancers that are made from ingredients that are high in sodium (tomatoes also have sodium too)!.
I wouldn't be worried unless it was two weeks or more!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They will be fine don't sweat it!. My boyfriend did the same thing once, I told him to make spaghetti for dinner so it was ready by the time I get home from work, & instead of using the new jar in the cabinet he used the already opened jar in the bottom of the fridge that was like a month old!!!! I didn't notice till my plate was clean! And absolutely nothing happen to either one of us!. :) Don't sweat it :>Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've grown up in organizations and clubs, where food was consumed long after a week!. I've yet to meet a spaghetti sauce, which will spoil in a week, especially when covered and refrigerated!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is nothing you can do about it now!. Most likely nothing will happen!. I assumed he heated it before he gave it to them!.
If they develop vomiting and diarrhea consult your doctor!.

I am an RN!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

As long as the food was stored in refrigeration and there was no mold on it there shouldn't be a problem!. Even if it was moldy or otherwise spoiled, the most your children would probably get is a stomach ache!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you have a really cold fridge i wouldn't worry about it too much!. just keep an eye on the children and if they start throwing up or running a fever take them to the ER asap!Www@FoodAQ@Com

All is well!. They children will be fine!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
