Gingerbread House Icicles?!

Question: Gingerbread House Icicles!?
I have made gingerbread houses in the past and have not had trouble piping icicles, but tonight I made the icing using egg beaters egg whites and I could not make icicles at all!. I also had a very hard time getting it to set up, although it did stiffen eventually!. Did this happen because I used the egg beaters or could there be something else wrong!? I want to make 2 more houses as gifts, so I don't want to make the same mistake again!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I would think there are probably additives in the eggbeaters!. I would separate the eggs yourself next time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would guess it is because of the egg beaters!. Remember they have additives for flavor!. I would try it again with regular eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know for sure but I would use something other than egg beaters for one batch to find outWww@FoodAQ@Com

Make sure you use a GLASS bowl!. If you use a plastic bowl it wont work!. AND DONT OVER BEAT IT!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

the icing is probably less dense hen what you've used in the pastWww@FoodAQ@Com

use real egg whitesWww@FoodAQ@Com
