Question about free range chickens?!

Question: Question about free range chickens!?
I have recently had to start eating meat after being a veggie for many years due to health reasons!.

I am wanting to buy a chicken to cook for a family meal and want to ensure that it has not been in a battery farm or cooped up in a cage etc!. Is there a symbol or something that I have to look for on the label!? Will it say free range or freedom to roam on the ticket like eggs do!?

I have heard that some free range chickens are still kept in cages but the cages are a little bigger, so I want to make sure that I am buying the right thing!.

Thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It will say Free Range on the label!. Don't by Freedom to roam!. While Free Range is protected, the rest is not!.
However, if you want the best get organic!. Not only are they ensure Free Range but are not fed hormones, antibiotics or other chemicals!.
They have excellent meat but as nature wants it a bit firmer!.!. because they move!.!. so you might need a bit more fat for basting!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You will have to read the packaging if it is not clear then you can email or phone the relevant supermarket to ask their policy!. the other option is you can buy direct from farms so you would be able to see how they are kept!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They are usually labeled "Free Range" There is really no way to know for sure!. Check the website of the farm who raised the chicken if you are that concerned about it!. Oaklyn Plantation, Vikon Farms, Marys ChickensWww@FoodAQ@Com

Free range will say!. In my local supermarket you can also tell by the colour of the label: blue is ordinary, green is free range!. If you can afford it, go for free range Organic!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The label will say free range if bought in a supermarket, or you will have to trust the butcher if you buy there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
