Why do I gag after every meal?!


Question: Why do I gag after every meal!?
After almost every meal I have that includes something creamy or thick (ie!. mayonnaise, ranch dressing, gravy, etc!.), I cough and gag for like 2 hours after wards and I can't make it stop!. I constantly feel like phlegm is stuck in the back of my throat!. Drinking water after a meal hasn't helped so far!. How do I get this to stop!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

You might be allergic to an ingredient, maybe a thickener agent like gelatine, or even eggs, which is causing your throat to swell up!. I would advise you to indentify each food which gives you this reaction, make a note of them and STOP eating them!. Don't take this lightly!.!.!. also, try to look at the ingredients of that food to work out if there is one ingredient common to all of them!. You could also ask your doctor to give you an allergy test to check if you are allergic to any food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's weird, i don't know!.
But i'll tell you what happens to me!.
Every time meat,beans,eggs,mustard,mayonnaise, and many other foods touch my tongue i gag!. The second it touches my tongue- i don't know whats wrong!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You may be lactose intolerant, or you have acid reflux!. Try and stop eating anything dairy for a few meals and see if this doesn't stop the symtoms!. See your doctor if you keep having this issue!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try eating dry bread if it feels like something is in your throat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hmm I've seen this happen before with a previous patient!. She finally decided to simply stop eating!. Try that for two weeks and get back to me about how you feel okay!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

maybe your tonsils are too big- i haven't gotten mine removed yet but it happens to me w/ mashed potatoes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
